Here we are at the third Donkey Konga game in Japan and America had just gotten its first Donkey Konga game eight months back. This is one of the main reasons I import games! The full name of Donkey Konga 3 translates to Donkey Konga 3: All You Can Eat! Spring 50 Song Mix!
It had all new songs, mini games and additional characters. Nintendo and Namco had already started plans for this third game in the series well in advance which is why it came out so quickly. Especially releasing two months before the American sequel! Within less than two years since the first games release, Donkey Konga 3 was now the fourth game in the series! Will the onslaught of Donkey Konga games ever stop? Or will everyone be Donkey Konga-ing well into the next generation of consoles?
If you could not guess, this time there were over 50 songs as opposed to previous games which usually gave us just a little over 30 songs. Over 50 songs! A lot of these songs were you same taste of variety of new songs seen in the previous two Japanese games, however, the other half of songs came from Nintendo Famicom games! There were some additional characters you could play as, such as Funky Kong, but it never really matter who you played as so no one really cares about that part. All that matters is that more songs equals more fun!
In two months after this release, the sequel to the first American Donkey Konga game releases, Donkey Konga 2. It also marks it as the last in the series forever.
