Zombie Loan

Zombie Loan is a story about a young girl named Michiru who possesses Shinigami eyes, which allow her to see a dark ring around a person’s neck. When the dark ring appears, it means that the person is going to die soon. The darker the ring gets then the less time that person has to live and if the ring is completely black, then that person is dead. She soons discovers that two of her classmates, Chika Akatsuki and Shito Tachibana both have the dark rings around their necks that are completely black but for some reason they are still alive. The reason for this is that after a tragic accident that was supposed to kill them both, the two boys made a deal with a secret loan office called the Zombie-Loan in which they must hunt zombies for the office in exchange for keeping them alive. Both Chika and Shito discover what Michiru can do and they force her to work with them or else something bad would happen to her. After she joins them, she realizes that her life just got even more complicated.

The Zombie Loan story was an interesting one and it does keep you watching, however this series is only 11 episodes long and to be honest I think they should have kept going with it. The ending leaves you wanting more and you’re like “wait that’s all there is?” I think if this series was a 24 or even 26 episodes long then it would be so much better. There’s a little bit of fan-service and ecchi in this series but not so bad at all.


The main characters of this series are Michiru, Chika, and Shito, and there are some minor characters as well. At the beginning you can see that Chika and Shito absolutely hate each other but because of their unique situation that I won’t mention, they are forced to work with each other. Michiru is the wimpiest character I’ve ever come across in an anime. She’s very shy at times and scared almost all the times, but after a while you get used to her and by the end she’s ok. There’s not a lot of character development in this series only because its only 11 eps long but overall I would say this series is sightly above average.

The animation in Zombie Loan is really well done. The action/fighting scenes are pretty cool. It’s not the greatest animation that I’ve seen but it works for this series. The characters are very well drawn and that’s pretty much all I have to say about this category, it scores high in my book.

This series only has one OP and ED. Both are good songs, it goes with the mood of the anime which I like. I personally liked the ED theme (MUCC - Chain Ring).

Overall, this series is a pretty good one if you are looking to watch something with comedy, action with a little bit of horror involved then check this series out. Like I mentioned before, I think its way too short and it will definitely leave the viewer wanting more.
